Getting back to learning more! Did GPS in February with Norvan and Seamanship with Port Moody - finished in early April. Last course was 28 years ago so this was like scrubbing rust off old parts. Now for some on-the-water time. I hope to see you at events and meetings soon.

This bulletin reminds boaters of small vessels or vessels constructed of primarily non-metalic materials, of the importance of fitting an effective and practible radar reflector.
It also stresses that due to the wide range in effectiveness among available radar reflector types and sizes, owners and operators must take care in selecting the most appropriate reflector for the safety of their vessel.

I have always felt that one of the most important benefits is the comradeship of like-minded Boaters. At this time, I would like to stress that as a volunteer organisation, we are always seeking the help of members in helping us to carry out our mandate to teach safe boating.
On Monday April 27th we will be holding our Annual General Meeting to r…

What do Jericho Beach, the Nicomekl River, False Creek, and Deep Cove have in common? When you’re looking to get out on the water around Vancouver, these just happen to be the top places to head for a paddle.
Wait a minute… Who could overlook Boundary Bay, Ladner Slough, or Grant Narrows? And what about Buntzen and Alouette lakes? There’s no doubt that when it comes to choosing the best place to dip your oar or paddle, Vancouver offers an embarrassment of watery riches, and of both the salty an…

Long trip to Coal Harbour only option after Esso gas dock shuts
Thousands of boaters, yacht charterers and commuter ferries in Vancouver are five weeks away from losing their False Creek fuelling station -- with no alternative in sight.
The move leaves hundreds of recreational boats at the city's two highly lucrative marinas without a gas dock. The nearest centre is a Chevron station in Coal Harbour -- a return ride worth about $20 in fuel for smaller power boats, and as much as $100 for large…
