Coquitlam Power and Sail Squadron

A MESSAGE FROM THE COMMANDER. APRIL 29TH 2009.

I want to bring you up-to-date on the status of our Squadron regarding the difficulty the Nominating Committee was having recently in being unable to fill three key positions on our Bridge Committee. This was outlined in a letter mailed to all members prior to the AGM held on Monday April 27th.

I am happy to report that one of the key positions of has been filled by Craig Neill, who was our Cruisemaster for many years before stepping down at the 2008 AGM. Craig volunteered to take on the important role of Executive Officer. This was a key factor in determining if our Squadron could continue its service to our members and to the community. We are very pleased that the Cruisemaster position has now been filled by Chris Sedergreen. We are also pleased to welcome back on the Bridge, Gail Larsen, as a Member at Large. Gail was our Socials Officer on the 2006/2007 Bridge. Joining her as a Member at Large, is a relatively new member, Colin MacGillivray.

Our sincere thanks go to Craig, Chris, Gail and Colin. Also I want to thank the other Bridge members who are carrying on in their respective positions. As a result of these newly appointed Officers, it was decided at the AGM, that the Special Meeting anticipated in my letter of April 15th to all members, be deferred.

During the coming months, your Bridge Committee will be discussing ways to improve our communications to all our members in order to keep our Squadron afloat, and to provide our community with our mandate to teach safe boating.

If you feel you can assist us in any way, please contact me.

Yours sincerely. Commander Ron Minshall.
